Overview

Denbies Vineyard Hotel opened in September 2019, just under an hour from Central London, the hotel offers an oasis of calm with its prime location in the heart of the Surrey Hills wine country.  Set in 265 acres of vineyard, the hotel offers breathtaking views. 

 

What makes a stay at Denbies Vineyard Hotel unique?

The hotel has 17 en-suite rooms, with décor reflecting the expanse of countryside.  Warm natural bark walls line the reception entrance opening into the stunning Orangery Restaurant with far reaching views over the vineyard. Bespoke wooden crafted furniture contribute to the origins of the working winery. The open landscape garden features all weather cabana style seating areas where guests can enjoy local sourced produce accompanied by the wine made and produced on the estate.

Views overlooking the 265 acres of vines, North Downs Way and the iconic Box Hill set the scene for this hidden gem. The vineyard itself offers 7 miles of public footpath which includes part of the North Downs Trail, making this a perfect destination for those seeking a tranquil stay.

Denbies Vineyard Hotel offers 17 bedrooms, 2 suites with interconnecting doors.  All rooms are furnished to a high standard

Guests can enjoy a selection of experiences bespoke to the hotel, cabana food and wine tasting experiences, secret vineyard trail and afternoon tea hamper on the lawn.  Denbies has also partnered with local businesses, Norbury Blue, to offer a cheese and wine tasting experience and the Gin Kitchen, for a gin and vine experience.

What can guests enjoy when staying in the Dorking area?

Denbies Visitor Centre, located in the winery, offers two restaurants, Wine & Gift Shop, vineyard and wine tasting tours, Art Gallery and wedding ceremony and reception facilties.

Surrey Hills Physiotherapy, located in The Barn next to the Vineyard Hotel are now offering the following; Massage, Reflexology, Pilates, Yoga and Tai Chi, the perfect addition to a relaxing vineyard break.  For information, reservations and availability please visit their website.

Visitors to the estate can also enjoy cycle hire from Just Pedal Bike hire, who are based on the estate.  The ideal way to explore the beautiful Surrey Hills.

Paradox Parlours Escape Rooms are locatewd within the winery building, ideal for the ULTIMATE escape break paradoxparlours.com  

Surrey Hills micro-brewery is located at the rear of the winery building and offers tours and tastings.  Village Greens Farm Shop is adjacent to the main building offering a wide range of locally sourced products.

The local market town of Dorking is a short 20 minute walk and is famous for its antique quarter.  Box Hill, the hightlight of the 2012 Olympic cycle race, is locate opposite the vineyard, perfect for hiking and breathtaking views.

Where can guests enjoy food and drink?

Denbies offers choice of three restaurants on-site.  The Vineyard Restaurant, located in the hotel is open every evening with views over the vineyard.  There are two cabana's available for exlcusive use, please ask at time of reservation.  The Gallery Restaurant, a la carte, is open for lunch and special wine and food tasting evening events.  

The Conservatory servery style Restaurant is open daily for all refreshments, light snacks and hot lunch options.

In the heart of the Surrey Hills, Denbies is surrounded by traditional country pubs, Michelin Star Restaurants, Gin distillery, TWO micro breweries, coffee roastery and Surrey Hills Vineyards.  Detaiuled information is available on the website.

With Denbies’ commitment to establish best practice in green-tourism, the hotel was built adopting some of the best measures to achieve carbon neutral status, reducing the impact on the environment and blending the hotel building into the natural surroundings of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the North Downs. 

Denbies manages its 635-acre estate to the highest environmental standards and works with national and conservation bodies to promote local wildlife, trees and plants.  As a result of its efforts, Denbies has seen a marked increase in birds, including partridge, wagtails and woodpecker, on the estate. The plantings also support Denbies’ work with Surrey Wildlife Trust to reintroduce beekeeping on site.  In 2016, Denbies has become the first vineyard member of the Bat Conservation Trust.

By Car

From M25 exit at Junction 9 then follow A24 south towards Dorking. At Denbies roundabout take the third exit onto Bradley Lane and follow road up to Denbies main building. (10 minutes from J9).

From A24 north bound at Denbies roundabout take first exit onto Bradley Lane and follow road up to Denbies main building.

From London follow A3 and exit for Dorking onto A24. (45 minutes from London).
